I don't know about you, but I'm easing into 2025!
Mercury isn't even out of shadow until the 2nd (You know Mercury Retrograde) . . . A perfect excuse to ease in. . .
Also Spring is when we tend to go harder. The Earth thaws out and so do we. It's ok to take things slowly.
Let's talk getting into routines that support you in this winter season which can still be cozy and introspective. Work with the seasons not against them. Here are some ideas.
Journaling

Brain dump. Give yourself a prompt. Write about your dreams, feelings, frustrations, gratitude. Draw pics. Keep a dream journal etc.
Tea or coffee ritual

Have some sort of go to beverage. A tea ritual. Coffee pot ritual. Heck I even feel that shaking up a martini has a feeling of specialness to it. It can be as simple as setting up a coffee pot, or as elaborate as a perculator or pour over etc. Tea is for sure a ritual. My husband the Brit treats his tea ritual with the reverence of a monk! I really enjoy fussing over all of them. I don't have a daily go to but I match beverages with my mood. It's a simple self-care thing. . .
Ways to elevate your Beverage
I use a special cup. Even at parties when people are drinking champagne, I always give a beautiful cup to the person drinking sparkling water. . .
Put it in a coup class.
Dress it up with a garnish
Use a fancy strainer, spoon, etc.
steam your milk and use the frother etc.
Add spices, food grade edible glitter, etc.
Gentle Movement
Stretching! Charting steps, emotions, or anything else you want to improve upon or get clear on with your health.
Cokder weather calls for gentleness. Tai Chi. Pilates. Walking, Yoga. I was a ballet dancer for years in Wisconsin.
Even if you’re a gym rat, take extra time to warm up and a little longer to stretch to avoid injury.
Quiet Hobbies

It's still the perfect time to curl up with a book. To knit or embroider, to write, to fiddle with your home brewery etc. Whatever it is for you, everyone can benefit from an anti-anxiety hobby they can do solo. Yes, even solitaire counts!
Vision Boarding And Mental Clarity

Do a vision board. Pin things to pinterest or Lemon 8. Make Lists with your goals and intentions. Get clear about what YOU WANT and NEED
Don't forget to put things that are in your heart and soul on there. Places you want to travel etc.
Let yourself dream bigger the next steps
Add Moisture to your Beauty Routine

This cold weather can really sap moisture from your skin. It's important to stay hydrated, take your collagen and maybe do a hair mask and face masks. I'm loving the korean skincare that really does deliver the 'glass skin' look and plumps up skin for days after. Living in the desert I especially need it. Spruce Your Space

Clear Clutter and Scrub out the Fridge/Pantry when insparation hits you
It gives you a dopamine hit to make things functional and pretty.
Same goes for closets. . .
Make health appointments and make budgets

Dentist, massages, etc. Get them on the books. They back up fast! Get a plan going for your money. With all of the apps out these days there's no excuse. If it's really bad hire someone to help you! Stuffing cash envelopes can be fun. Lock it up if you do! Invest in your life and in yourself. Schedule car maintenance too while you're adulting so hard.
Soft Comfy Loungewear

Wash your sweatpants. Do a check and see if your loungewear needs an update.
Everyone deserves new trainers/sneakers, and comfies to wear on days off. Make sure you have enough socks and underwear. Nothing lifts the mood like new underthings and loungewear!
Happy New Year
